حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ بُنْدَارٍ، غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ:

كَانَ يُكَلِّمُ الرَّجُلُ صَاحِبَهُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ بِالْحَاجَةِ، عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، حَتَّى نَزَلَتْ: وَقُومُوا لِلهِ قَانِتِينَ، فَأُمِرْنَا بِالسُّكُوتِ

Translation

✧ A man used to speak to his companion in prayer about a need, during the time of the Prophet ﷺ, until the verse was revealed: 'And stand before Allah, devoutly obedient.' So we were commanded to be silent.
