machine translationMakhramah b. Bukayr contradicted him and narrated it from his father, from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar, from the Prophet ﷺ, and that is the preserved (maḥfūẓ) version.
in صحيح ابن خزيمة, p. 1921 - Sulaymān b. Aḥmad al-Ṭabarānī
machine translationNone narrated it from Nāfiʿ with the addition of Ḥafṣah except Bukayr, and none narrated it from him except ʿAyyāsh; Mufaḍḍal was alone in transmitting it.
machine translationIts narrators are trustworthy (thiqāt). If it is preserved (maḥfūẓ), then it is a different hadith, and there is nothing to prevent Ibn ʿUmar from hearing it from the Prophet ﷺ and from other Companions, especially given the differences in the wording.
in صحيح ابن خزيمة, p. 1921 - Aḥmad b. Ḥanbal
machine translationIt was held to be defective (muʿall) because Makhramah b. Bukayr narrated it from his father, from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar, from the Prophet ﷺ without mentioning Ḥafṣah, and that is more sound (aṣaḥḥ) according to Imam Aḥmad and al-Dāraquṭnī.
