✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ prayed the prayer of fear at Dhat al-Riqa'. She said: The Messenger of God ﷺ split the people into two groups. One group lined up behind him, and another group stood facing the enemy. She said: The Messenger of God ﷺ said the takbir, and the group that lined up behind him said the takbir. Then he bowed and they bowed, then he prostrated and they prostrated, then he raised his head and they raised theirs. Then the Messenger of God ﷺ remained sitting, and they prostrated for themselves the second prostration. Then they stood up and retreated on their heels, walking backward, until they stood behind them. The other group came forward—Ahmad said: "the other [group]"—and they both said: They lined up behind the Messenger of God ﷺ and said the takbir, then they bowed for themselves. Then the Messenger of God ﷺ prostrated his second prostration, and they prostrated. Ahmad b. al-Azhar added: They prostrated with him. Then the Messenger of God ﷺ stood up in his rak'ah, and they prostrated for themselves the second prostration. Then both groups stood up together. And they both said: They lined up behind the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he bowed one rak'ah with them, and they all bowed. Then he prostrated, and they all prostrated. Abu al-Azhar said: Then he raised his head and they raised with him. Muhammad b. 'Ali said: And they raised in his place, and he did not say: "Then he raised his head." They both said: That was from the Messenger of God ﷺ very quick, not failing to lighten as much as he could. Then the Messenger of God ﷺ said the taslim, and they said the taslim. Then the Messenger of God ﷺ stood up, and the people had shared with him in his entire prayer.
