✧ The Prophet ﷺ passed by Abu Bakr while he was praying, lowering his voice, and he passed by Umar praying, raising his voice. When they gathered with the Prophet ﷺ, he said to Abu Bakr: O Abu Bakr, I passed by you while you were praying, lowering your voice. He said: I made myself heard by the One I was confiding in. And I passed by you, O Umar, while you were raising your voice. He said: O Messenger of God, I sought thereby to awaken the drowsy one. He said to Abu Bakr: Raise your voice a little, and to Umar: Lower your voice.
