✧ We were detained on the Day of the Trench until a portion of the night had passed after Maghrib—that was before the [verses] concerning fighting were revealed. When we were spared the fighting—and that is the saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic: “Allah sufficed the believers in fighting, and Allah is Strong, Mighty”—the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded Bilal, and he made the iqamah—meaning for Zuhr—and he prayed it just as he used to pray it at its proper time. Then he made the iqamah for Asr, and he prayed it just as he used to pray it at its proper time. Then he made the iqamah for Maghrib, and he prayed it just as he used to pray it at its proper time.
