حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى الصَّنْعَانِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ. وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُوسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ؛ ( ح )، وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ كُرَيْبٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا قَبِيصَةُ، عَنْ شَيْبَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ؛ ( ح )، وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ [وَحَدَّثَنَا سَلْمُ بْنُ جُنَادَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ]. فِي حَدِيثِ خَالِدٍ وَوَكِيعٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، وَفِي حَدِيثِ مُعَاذِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، وَفِي حَدِيثِ شَيْبَانَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ يَقُولُ: أَخْبَرَنِي جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ:
جَاءَ عُمَرُ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ فَجَعَلَ يَسُبُّ كُفَّارَ قُرَيْشٍ، فَقَالَ: وَاللهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا صَلَّيْتُ الْعَصْرَ حَتَّى كَادَتِ الشَّمْسُ أَنْ تَغِيبَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: وَأَنَا وَاللهِ مَا صَلَّيْتُهَا، فَنَزَلَ إِلَى بُطْحَانَ فَتَوَضَّأَ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى الْعَصْرَ بَعْدَمَا غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ بَعْدَهَا

✧ 'Umar came on the day of the Trench and began cursing the disbelievers of Quraysh. He said: 'By God, O Messenger of God, I have not prayed 'Asr until the sun was about to set.' The Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'By God, I have not prayed it either.' So he went down to Buthan, performed ablution, then prayed 'Asr after the sun had set, then prayed Maghrib after it.
