Mention of what God revealed in the Qurʾān concerning Uḥud

Translation

✧ [Encouragement to obedience] Then He said: And obey Allah and the Messenger, that you may receive mercy — as a reproof to those who disobeyed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he commanded them what he commanded them with on that day and on other occasions. Then He said: And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a garden whose width is the heavens and the earth, prepared for the God-fearing — meaning, as an abode for whoever obeys Me and obeys My Messenger. Those who spend in ease and hardship, and who restrain anger, and who pardon people — and Allah loves the doers of good — meaning, that is excellence, and I love whoever acts upon it. And those who, when they commit an indecency or wrong themselves, remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins — and who forgives sins but Allah? — and do not persist in what they did while they know — meaning, if they commit an indecency, or wrong themselves through an act of disobedience, they remember Allah's prohibition of it and what He has forbidden them, and seek His forgiveness for it, and they know that none forgives sins but He. And they do not persist in what they did while they know: meaning, they do not remain upon disobedience to Me, as does the one who associates partners with Me in the excesses of their disbelief, while they know what I have forbidden them of worship of other than Me. Those — their reward is forgiveness from their Lord and gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein forever; and excellent is the reward of the workers — meaning, the recompense of the obedient.
