What poetry was recited about the day of Badr

Translation

✧ Ḥassān b. Thābit also said: Would that I knew whether our destruction of the disbelievers reached the people of Makkah in the hour of hardship. We killed the chiefs of the people at our halting-place, and they returned only with a broken back. We killed Abū Jahl and ʿUtbah before him, and Shaybah falls upon his hands and throat. We killed Suwayd, then ʿUtbah after him, and Ṭuʿmah also amid the stirring dust of battle. How many a noble, afflicted man have we killed, who had lineage among his people and whose mention was eminent. We left them to the howling beasts to bite them, and they will roast in a fire thereafter, hot of depth. By your life, the horsemen of Mālik did not hover, nor their followers, on the day we met at Badr. Ibn Hishām said: Abū Zayd al-Anṣārī recited to me his verse: We killed Abū Jahl and ʿUtbah before him, and Shaybah falls upon his hands and throat.
