What befell Zaynab from Quraysh upon her departure and Abū Sufyān's counsel

Translation

✧ [Poetry of Hind and Kinānah concerning the departure of Zaynab] And when those who had gone out to Zaynab turned back, Hind bt. ʿUtbah met them and said to them: "In peace are you wild asses, coarse and rough, and in war like menstruating women?" And Kinānah b. al-Rabīʿ said concerning the matter of Zaynab, when he handed her over to the two men: "I marvel at Habbār and the rabble of his people, seeking to break my protection of the daughter of Muḥammad. I care not, as long as I live, for their number, nor when my hand grips the hilt of the Indian sword."
