✧ The call to prayer was made with the announcement 'Come together for prayer,' so the people gathered and were alarmed. She said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ascended the pulpit, praised Allah and lauded Him, and said, "I have not gathered you for desire or fear, but because of a report that Tamim al-Dari told me. He claimed that he rode the sea with thirty men from Lakhm and Judham. He said: The sea played with us—or perhaps he said: the waves played with us—for a month. Then the ship cast us onto an island in the sea. He said: We went out to it, and a girl met us dragging her hair; we did not know whether she was coming or going. We said, 'What are you?' She said, 'I am the Jassasah.' We said, 'Tell us.' She said, 'Go to the man in the monastery, for he will tell you and ask you.' He said: We entered upon him, and there was a man of such great size as Allah willed, bound with iron chains. We said, 'Who are you?' He said, 'Tell me about what I ask you.' They said, 'Ask us.' He said, 'What happened to the date palms of Baysan? Do they bear fruit?' We said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Soon they will not bear fruit.' Then he said, 'Tell me about the spring of Zughar. Does it have water?' We said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Soon it will have no water.' Then he said, 'Tell me about this man—has he emerged?' They said, 'Yes.' He said, 'He is truthful, so follow him.' We said, 'Who are you?' He said, 'I am the Dajjal.'" Kahmas said: Ibn Buraydah mentioned something I did not memorize, except that he said, "The earth will be folded for him, and he will come upon all of them in forty mornings."
