✧ A wind blew while we were with 'Abd Allah, and Ibn Mas'ud became angry until we recognized anger in his face. He said, "Woe to you! The Hour will not come until no inheritance is divided and no booty is rejoiced over." Then he struck his hand toward Syria and said, "An enemy gathers against the Muslims from here, and they meet, and a death squad is chosen that does not return except victorious. They fight until the sun sets, then these and those withdraw, neither prevailing, and the squad is annihilated. Then the next day another death squad is chosen that does not return except victorious. They fight until the sun sets, then these and those withdraw, neither prevailing, and the squad is annihilated. Then the next day, on the third day, a death squad is chosen that does not return except victorious. They fight until the sun sets, then these and those withdraw, neither prevailing, and the squad is annihilated. Then they meet on the fourth day and fight them and defeat them until blood reaches the horses' chests. They fight until even brothers count themselves against a hundred, and they are killed until not one man of them remains. So what inheritance would be divided after this, and what booty would be rejoiced over? Then they conquer Constantinople. While they are dividing dinars with shields, a greater terror comes to them: the Dajjal has emerged among your families. So they abandon what is in their hands and turn back, and they send a vanguard of horsemen." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "They are on that day the best horsemen on earth. I indeed know their names, their fathers' names, their tribes, and the colors of their horses."
