✧ While a shepherd was tending his sheep in the harrah, a wolf attacked one of his sheep. The shepherd came running and snatched it from him. The wolf said to the shepherd, 'Do you not fear Allah? You come between me and a provision that Allah has sent to me.' The shepherd said, 'How amazing! A wolf, sitting on its tail, speaking to me in human speech!' The wolf said to the shepherd, 'Shall I tell you something even more amazing? This is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ between the two harrahs, telling the people of the news of what has already happened.' The shepherd drove his sheep to Madinah, penned them in one of its corners, then entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and told him what the wolf had said. The Messenger of Allah came out and said to the shepherd, 'Stand and inform.' So he informed the people of what the wolf had said. And he ﷺ said, 'The shepherd has spoken the truth. Indeed, among the signs of the Hour is that wild animals will speak to humans. By the One in whose hand is my soul, the Hour will not come until wild animals speak to humans, a man speaks to his sandal and the strap of his whip, and his thigh tells him of what his family did after him.'
