Translation
✧ The Expedition of al-ʿUshayra The Prophet ﷺ set out to al-ʿUshayra in the middle of the second year of the Hijrah. His banner was white, carried by Ḥamzah b. ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib, and he appointed Abū Salamah b. ʿAbd al-Asad over Madinah. He was accompanied by one hundred and fifty Muslims. The reason for it was that a caravan of Quraysh had set out heading for Syria, so he went out to intercept it but found that it had already passed. It was the same caravan that he went out to meet upon its return, which became the cause of the Great Expedition of Badr. Then he returned to Madinah ﷺ.
