The Prophet's ﷺ Marriage to Khadijah bt. Khuwaylid ᴿᴬ
Translation
✧ Ibn Isḥāq said: Khadījah bt. Khuwaylid was a merchant woman of nobility and wealth who hired men to trade with her wealth on a profit-sharing basis. When she heard about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ—what she heard of the truthfulness of his speech, the greatness of his trustworthiness, and the nobility of his character—she sent to him and offered him to go out with her wealth as a merchant to Syria, and to give him the best of what she gave to other merchants, along with a servant of hers called Maysarah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ accepted it from her, and he went out with that wealth of hers, and her servant Maysarah went out with him until he arrived in Syria. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ alighted in the shade of a tree near the cell of a monk from among the monks. The monk looked at Maysarah and said: "Who is this man who has alighted under the tree?" Maysarah said: "This is a man from Quraysh, from the people of the sacred precinct." The monk said to him: "No one has alighted under this tree except a prophet." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sold his merchandise—that is, the goods he had gone out with—and bought what he wanted to buy. Then he returned to Makkah, accompanied by Maysarah. Maysarah—as they claim—when the midday heat was intense, would see two angels shading him from the sun while he rode on his camel. When he arrived in Makkah to Khadījah with her wealth, she sold what he had brought and it doubled or nearly so, and Maysarah told her about the monk's statement and about what he saw of the two angels shading him.
