Translation

✧ Mention of the Governorship of Muhadhdhab al-Dawlah over al-Baṭīḥah In this year al-Muẓaffar b. ʿAlī died, and after him his sister's son Abū al-Ḥasan ʿAlī b. Naṣr succeeded by the aforementioned covenant. He wrote to Sharaf al-Dawlah offering him obedience and requesting investiture. He was granted that and was given the title Muhadhdhab al-Dawlah. He governed well, dispensed goodness and beneficence, so people sought him out, and the fearful found safety with him. Al-Baṭīḥah became a stronghold for everyone who sought it, and the notables adopted it as a homeland, building fine houses there, and his kindness and beneficence encompassed them. He corresponded with the kings of the border regions, and they corresponded with him. Bahāʾ al-Dawlah gave him his daughter in marriage, and his importance grew until al-Qādir bi-llāh sought him out, and he protected him, and he remained with him until the caliphate came to him, as we shall mention, God Almighty willing.
