Translation
✧ Then the year 360 AH began. Account of the rebellion of the people of Kirmān against ʿAḍud al-Dawlah. When ʿAḍud al-Dawlah took possession of Kirmān, as we have mentioned, the Qufṣ and the Billūṣ, among whom were Abū Saʿīd al-Billūṣī and his sons, gathered upon a single word of opposition, and they swore oaths to remain steadfast and exert themselves. So ʿAḍud al-Dawlah attached ʿĀbid b. ʿAlī to Kūrkīr b. Jastān, and they marched to Jīruft with the troops accompanying them. They met on the tenth of Ṣafar, and they fought. Both sides held firm, then the Qufṣ and those with them were routed. Five thousand of their brave men and notables were killed, and two sons of Abū Saʿīd were killed. Then ʿĀbid b. ʿAlī marched, following their traces to extirpate them. He inflicted several defeats upon them and made great slaughter among them. He reached Hurmuz and took possession of it, and he seized control of the lands of al-Tīz and Makrān. He took two thousand captives. The rest sought amnesty and offered to surrender their strongholds and mountains, on the condition that they would enter into peace, abandon the emblems of war, and uphold the ordinances of Islam, including prayer, zakāt, and fasting. Then ʿĀbid marched against other groups known as al-Ḥarūmiyyah and al-Ḥāsikiyyah, who terrified travelers on sea and land. They had supported Sulaymān b. Abī ʿAlī b. Ilyās, whose mention has preceded. He fell upon them, killed many of them, and brought them to ʿAḍud al-Dawlah, and that land remained orderly for a period of time. Then the Billūṣ did not linger before they returned to their former ways of shedding blood and cutting off the road. When they did that, ʿAḍud al-Dawlah equipped himself and marched to Kirmān in Dhū al-Qaʿdah. When he reached al-Sīrajān, he saw their corruption and what they had done in cutting off the road in Kirmān, Sijistān, and Khurāsān. So he dispatched ʿĀbid b. ʿAlī with a dense army and ordered him to pursue them. When they sensed him, they fled deep into narrow passes, thinking that the army would not penetrate them, and they remained there feeling secure. He marched in their tracks, and they were not aware until he appeared above them. They could not flee, so they held firm for their day, which was the ninth of Rabīʿ al-Awwal in the year 361 AH. Then they were routed at the end of the day, and most of their fighting men were killed. The children and women were taken captive. A few remained, and they sought amnesty, which was granted to them. They were removed from those mountains, and ʿAḍud al-Dawlah settled farmers and cultivators in their place, until they covered that land with cultivation. ʿĀbid pursued those groups on land until he destroyed them and scattered their unity.
