Translation
✧ A fuller (qassar) of the Children of Israel: From Bakr b. 'Abd Allah al-Muzani: A fuller became infatuated with a young woman belonging to one of his neighbors. Her family sent her for an errand of theirs in another village, so he followed her and sought to seduce her. She said: Do not do it, for I love you more intensely than you do, but I fear Allah. He said: So you fear Him while I do not fear Him? He returned [from the attempt] a second time, and thirst afflicted him until his neck nearly snapped. Then he came upon a messenger of Allah to some of the Children of Israel, and he asked him. He said: What is the matter with you? He said: Thirst. He said: Come, let us supplicate so that a cloud may shade us until we enter the village. He said: I have no deed with Allah by which I may supplicate. He said: Then I shall supplicate, and you say amin. He said: So the messenger supplicated and he said amin, and a cloud shaded them until they reached the village. The fuller took to a place, and the cloud inclined over him. The messenger returned and said: You claimed that you had no deed, yet I was the one who supplicated and you were the one who said amin, and a cloud shaded us; then it followed you. Tell me what your affair is. So he told him, and the messenger said: The one who repents to Allah is in a station where none among people is in his station.
