وَفِي هَذَا الشَّهْرِ تُوُفِّيَ قَاضِي الْقُضَاةِ أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَوَلِيَ ابْنُهُ أَبُو نَصْرٍ يُوسُفُ. قَالَ طَلْحَةُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ: لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْخَمِيسِ لِخَمْسٍ بَقِينَ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ خَلَعَ الرَّاضِي عَلَى أَبِي نَصْرٍ يُوسُفَ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ وَقَلَّدَهُ قَضَاءَ الْحَضْرَةِ بِأَسْرِهَا الْجَانِبِ الشَّرْقِيِّ وَالْغَرْبِيِّ وَالْمَدِينَةِ وَالْكَرْخِ وَقَطَعَهُ مِنْ أَعْمَالِ السَّوَادِ، وَخَلَعَ عَلَى أَخِيهِ أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عُمَرَ لِقَضَاءِ أَكْثَرِ السَّوَادِ، ثُمَّ صَرَفَ الرَّاضِي أَبَا نَصْرٍ عَنْ مَدِينَةِ الْمَنْصُورِ بِأَخِيهِ الْحُسَيْنِ فِي سَنَةِ تِسْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ، وَأَقَرَّهُ عَلَى الْجَانِبِ الشَّرْقِيِّ. وَفِي يَوْمِ السَّبْتِ لِثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ لَيْلَةً خَلَتْ مِنْ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ: أَشْهَدَ أَبُو عَلِيِّ بْنُ أَبِي مُوسَى الْهَاشِمِيُّ عَنْ نَفْسِهِ ثَلَاثِينَ شَاهِدًا مِنَ الْعُدُولِ بِأَنَّهُ لَا يَشْهَدُ عِنْدَ الْقَاضِي أَبِي نَصْرٍ يُوسُفَ بْنِ عُمَرَ بِبَغْدَادَ، وَأَخَذَ خُطُوطَ الشُّهُودِ أَنَّهُ عَدْلٌ مَقْبُولُ الشَّهَادَةِ. وَفِي يَوْمِ الِاثْنَيْنِ لِثَمَانٍ بَقِينَ مِنْ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ: أَسْجَلَ الْقَاضِي أَبُو نَصْرٍ يُوسُفُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بِأَنَّ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي مُوسَى الْهَاشِمِيَّ سَاقِطُ الشَّهَادَةِ بِشَهَادَةِ عِشْرِينَ عَدْلًا عَلَيْهِ بِذَلِكَ.
Translation
✧ And in this month the Chief Judge Abū l-Ḥusayn ʿUmar b. Muḥammad died, and his son Abū Naṣr Yūsuf took office. Ṭalḥa b. Muḥammad b. Jaʿfar said: When it was Thursday, five nights remaining of Shaʿbān, al-Rāḍī invested Abū Naṣr Yūsuf b. ʿUmar b. Muḥammad b. Yūsuf and appointed him to the judgeship of the entire capital—the eastern side, the western side, the City (Madīnat al-Manṣūr), and al-Karkh—and detached him from the districts of the Sawād, and he invested his brother Abū Muḥammad al-Ḥusayn b. ʿUmar with the judgeship of most of the Sawād. Then al-Rāḍī removed Abū Naṣr from Madīnat al-Manṣūr, replacing him with his brother al-Ḥusayn in the year 329, and confirmed him over the eastern side. On Saturday, thirteen nights having elapsed of Dhū l-Ḥijja: Abū ʿAlī b. Abī Mūsā al-Hāshimī had thirty witnesses from among the upright testify concerning himself that he would not testify before the judge Abū Naṣr Yūsuf b. ʿUmar in Baghdad, and he took the attestations of the witnesses that he is upright and his testimony acceptable. On Monday, eight nights remaining of Dhū l-Ḥijja: the judge Abū Naṣr Yūsuf b. ʿUmar recorded that Abū ʿAbd Allāh b. Abī Mūsā al-Hāshimī's testimony is void, based on the testimony of twenty upright witnesses against him to that effect.
