ذِكْرُ غَلَبَةِ وَشْمَكِيرَ عَلَى أَصْبَهَانَ وَأَلَمُوتَ وَفِيهَا أَرْسَلَ وَشْمَكِيرُ بْنُ زِيَارَ أَخُو مَرْدَاوَيْجَ جَيْشًا كَثِيفًا مِنَ الرَّيِّ إِلَى أَصْبَهَانَ، وَبِهَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ بُوَيْهِ، وَهُوَ رُكْنُ الدَّوْلَةِ، فَأَزَالُوهُ عَنْهَا وَاسْتَوْلَوْا عَلَيْهَا، وَخَطَبُوا فِيهَا لِوَشْمَكِيرَ، ثُمَّ سَارَ ( رُكْنُ الدَّوْلَةِ إِلَى بِلَادِ فَارِسَ، فَنَزَلَ بِظَاهِرِ إِصْطَخْرَ، وَسَارَ ) وَشْمَكِيرُ إِلَى قَلْعَةِ أَلَمُوتَ، فَمَلَكَهَا وَعَادَ عَنْهَا، وَسَيَرِدُ مِنْ أَخْبَارِهِمَا سَنَةَ ثَمَانٍ وَعِشْرِينَ [ وَثَلَاثِمِائَةٍ ] مَا تَقِفُ عَلَيْهِ.
Translation
✧ Mention of Washmakīr's Conquest of Aṣbahān and Alamūt In this year, Washmakīr b. Ziyār, the brother of Mardāwayj, sent a dense army from al-Rayy to Aṣbahān, where Abū ʿAlī al-Ḥasan b. Buwayh, who is Rukn al-Dawlah, was, and they removed him from it and took possession of it, and they preached the khuṭbah in it for Washmakīr. Then Rukn al-Dawlah marched to the lands of Fārs and encamped in the outskirts of Iṣṭakhr, and Washmakīr marched to the fortress of Alamūt and seized it, then returned from it. Reports of the two of them will come in the year twenty-eight [and three hundred] that will inform you.
