Then the Year 323 AH Began
وَفِيهَا جَهَّزَ عِمَادُ الدَّوْلَةِ بْنُ بُوَيْهِ أَخَاهُ رُكْنَ الدَّوْلَةِ الْحَسَنَ إِلَى بِلَادِ الْجَبَلِ، وَسَيَّرَ مَعَهُ الْعَسَاكِرَ بَعْدَ عَوْدِهِ لَمَّا قُتِلَ مَرْدَاوَيْجُ، فَسَارَ إِلَى أَصْبَهَانَ، فَاسْتَوْلَى عَلَيْهَا، وَأَنْزَلَ عَنْهَا وَعَنْ عِدَّةٍ مِنْ بِلَادِ الْجَبَلِ نُوَّابَ وَشْمَكِيرَ، وَأَقْبَلَ وَشْمَكِيرُ وَجَهَّزَ الْعَسَاكِرَ نَحْوَهُ، وَبَقِيَ هُوَ وَشْمَكِيرُ يَتَنَازَعَانِ تِلْكَ الْبِلَادَ، وَهِيَ أَصْبَهَانُ وَهَمَذَانُ، وَقُمُّ، وَقَاجَانُ، وَكَرَجُ، وَالرَّيُّ، وَكِنْكِوَرُ، وَقَزْوِينُ وَغَيْرُهَا.
Translation
✧ In this year, ʿImād al-Dawlah b. Buwayh dispatched his brother Rukn al-Dawlah al-Ḥasan to the lands of al-Jabal, and sent armies with him after his return when Mardāwīj was killed. He marched to Iṣbahān and took control of it, and removed from it and from several of the lands of al-Jabal the deputies of Washmakīr. Washmakīr approached and prepared armies against him. He and Washmakīr remained contending over those lands, namely Iṣbahān, Hamadhān, Qumm, Qājān, Karaj, al-Rayy, Kinkawar, Qazwīn, and others.
