Then the Year 321 AH Began
فَمِنَ الْحَوَادِثِ فِيهَا: أَنَّهُ [فِي ] يَوْمِ السَّبْتِ لِإِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ خَلَتْ مِنْ صَفَرٍ جَلَسَ الْقَاهِرُ بِاللَّهِ فِي الْمَيْدَانِ وَأَحْضَرَ رَجُلًا قَطَعَ الطَّرِيقَ فِي دِجْلَةَ، فَضُرِبَ بِحَضْرَتِهِ أَلْفَ سَوْطٍ، ثُمَّ ضُرِبَتْ عُنُقُهُ، وَضُرِبَ جَمَاعَةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ وَقُطِّعَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَأَرْجُلُهُمْ.
Translation
✧ Among the events in it: That on Saturday, when eleven nights had passed of Ṣafar, al-Qāhir bi-llāh sat in the maydān and brought forward a man who had committed highway robbery on the Tigris. He was struck in his presence with a thousand lashes, then his neck was struck, and a group of his companions were struck and their hands and feet were cut off.
