Translation
✧ Mention of several events In the year eighteen and three hundred, the cavalry mutinied and threatened to renounce obedience. Al-Muqtadir brought their commanders before him, promised them kindness, and that he would release their stipends in the coming month, so they quieted. Then the infantry mutinied, and their stipends were released. In it, al-Muqtadir bestowed a robe of honor on his son Hārūn, and the vizier and the army rode with him, and he granted him the governorship of Fārs, Kirmān, Sijistān, and Makrān. In it also, he bestowed a robe of honor on his son Abū al-ʿAbbās, and granted him the lands of the West, Egypt, and Syria, and made Muʾnis al-Muẓaffar his deputy over them. In it, the two sons of Rāʾiq were dismissed from the police, and Abū Bakr Muḥammad b. Yāqūt was appointed to it. In it, a conflict occurred in Naṣībīn between the people of the Gate of the Romans and the Eastern Gate, and they fought a fierce battle, and they brought in a group of Arabs and villagers, and a number were killed among them, and houses and shops were burned, and properties were looted, and a great caravan heading to Syria stopped by them, and they plundered it. In it: A wind blew from the west in Ādhār, carrying red sand resembling goldsmiths' sand, and the markets of Baghdad on both sides, its rooftops, and its houses were filled with it. It was said that it came from the two mountains of Zarūd. In this year, ʿAbd al-Samīʿ b. Ayyūb b. ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz al-Hāshimī led the people on the pilgrimage. The pilgrims departed with a protective escort and an advance guard so that they were safe in going and returning from the Qarmatians. And to God be praise.
