Translation
✧ Mention of several events In the year 316 AH, the affair of Abū Yazīd the Khārijite began in the Maghrib. In it, a Khārijite appeared in Sijistān and marched with a group to the lands of Fārs, intending to seize control of them, but his companions killed him before he reached them, and they dispersed. In it, Aḥmad b. Naṣr al-ʿUshūrī was dismissed from the chamberlainship of the caliph, and Yāqūt was appointed to it. He was governor in Fārs and remained there, so he deputized his son Abū al-Fatḥ al-Muẓaffar over the chamberlainship. In it, the Domestikos arrived with a large army of the Byzantines in Armenia, and they besieged Khilāṭ. Its people made peace with him, and he departed from them after he removed the pulpit from the congregational mosque and placed a cross in its place, and he did likewise with Bidlīs. The people of Arzan and others feared him, so they abandoned their lands, and their notables went down to Baghdād and sought aid from the caliph, but they were not aided. In it, seven hundred men from the Byzantines and Armenians arrived at Malaṭya, and with them were axes and pickaxes, and they showed that they were earning a living by labor. Then it became apparent that Malīḥ al-Armanī, the lord of the mountain passes, had placed them there so that when he besieged the city, they would surrender it to him. The people of Malaṭya learned of them, so they killed them and took what they had with them. In it, in the middle of Rabīʿ al-Awwal, Muʾnis al-Muʾnisī was appointed over Mosul and its districts.
