ذِكْرُ عِدَّةِ حَوَادِثَ وَفِي سَنَةُ إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ وَثَلَاثِمِائَةٍ غَزَا مُؤْنِسٌ الْمُظَفَّرُ بِلَادَ الرُّومِ ، فَغَنِمَ وَفَتَحَ حُصُونًا، وَغَزَا ثَمِلٌ أَيْضًا فِي الْبَحْرِ، فَغَنِمَ مِنَ السَّبْيِ أَلْفَ رَأْسٍ، وَمِنَ الدَّوَابِّ ثَمَانِيَةَ آلَافِ رَأْسٍ، وَمِنَ الْغَنَمِ مِائَتَيْ أَلْفِ رَأْسٍ، وَمِنَ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ شَيْئًا كَثِيرًا. وَفِيهَا ظَهَرَ جَرَادٌ كَثِيرٌ بِالْعِرَاقِ فَأَضَرَّ بِالْغَلَّاتِ وَالشَّجَرِ وَعَظُمَ. وَفِيهَا اسْتُعْمِلَ بُنِّيُّ بْنُ نَفِيسٍ عَلَى حَرْبِ أَصْبَهَانَ. وَفِي رَمَضَانَ مِنْهَا أُمِرَ بِرَدِّ بَقِيَّةِ الْمَوَارِيثِ إِلَى ذَوِي الْأَرْحَامِ. وَفِيهَا فِي النِّصْفِ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ أُحْرِقَ عَلَى بَابِ الْعَامَّةِ صُورَةُ مَانِي وَأَرْبَعَةُ أَعْدَالٍ مِنْ كُتُبِ الزَّنَادِقَةِ، فَسَقَطَ مِنْهَا ذَهَبٌ كَثِيرٌ كَانَتْ مُحَلَّاةً بِهِ. وَفِيهَا اتَّخَذَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ بْنُ الْفُرَاتِ الْوَزِيرُ مَارَسْتَانًا فِي دَرْبِ الْفَضْلِ، يُنْفِقُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ مَالِهِ فِي كُلِّ شَهْرٍ مِائَتَيْ دِينَارٍ. وَأَنَّهُ قُلِّدَ أَبُو عَمْرٍو حَمْزَةُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ الصَّلَاةَ فِي جَامِعِ الْمَدِينَةِ، وَشَغَبَ الْجُنْدُ فِي الْمُحَرَّمِ، فَلَمَّا أُطْلِقَتْ أَرْزَاقُهُمْ سَكَنُوا. وَخُلِعَ عَلَى مُؤْنِسٍ الْمُظَفَّرِ وَعُقِدَ لَهُ عَلَى الْغُزَاةِ لِلصَّائِفَةِ [فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ ]. وَقُرِئَ كِتَابٌ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ بِالْفَتْحِ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ مِنْ طَرَسُوسَ. وَكَانَ نَازُوكُ أَمَرَ بِضَرْبِ غُلَامَيْنِ كَانَ أَحَدُهُمَا غُلَامًا لِبَعْضِ الرَّجَّالَةِ الْمُصَافِيَةِ، فَحَمَلَ الرَّجَّالَةُ السِّلَاحَ وَقَصَدُوا دَارَ نَازُوكَ، وَوَقَعَتْ بَيْنَهُمْ حَرْبٌ، وَقُتِلَ جَمَاعَةٌ، فَرَكِبَ الْمُقْتَدِرُ وَبَلَغَ إِلَى بَابِ الْعَامَّةِ، ثُمَّ أَشَارَ عَلَيْهِ نَصْرٌ الْحَاجِبُ بِالرُّجُوعِ فَرَجَعَ، وَوَجَّهَ الْقُوَّادَ لِلتَّسْكِينِ وَشَغَلَهُمْ بِإِطْلَاقِ أَرْزَاقِهِمْ فَسَكَنُوا. وَفِي رَجَبٍ اسْتَخْلَفَ الْقَاضِي أَبُو عُمَرَ وَلَدَهُ عَلَى الْقَضَاءِ بِمَدِينَةِ السَّلَامِ، وَرَكِبَ إِلَى جَامِعِ الرَّصَافَةِ وَحَكَمَ.
Translation
✧ Mention of several events In the year three hundred and eleven, Muʾnis al-Muẓaffar raided the land of the Byzantines, and he took booty and conquered fortresses. Thamil also raided by sea, and he took as booty a thousand captives, eight thousand beasts, two hundred thousand sheep, and a great quantity of gold and silver. In it, abundant locusts appeared in Iraq and damaged the crops and the trees, and it was severe. In it, Bunayy b. Nafīs was appointed over the war of Isfahan. And in Ramaḍān of it, it was commanded to return the remainder of the inheritances to the uterine relatives. In it, in the middle of Ramaḍān, the image of Mānī and four loads of the books of the heretics were burned at the Gate of the Common People; and much gold fell from them, with which they had been adorned. In it, the vizier Abū al-Ḥasan b. al-Furāt established a hospital in Darb al-Faḍl, spending on it from his own wealth two hundred dinars every month. And Abū ʿAmr Ḥamza b. al-Qāsim was invested with the prayer in the congregational mosque of the city, and the troops rioted in Muḥarram, but when their stipends were released they quieted. And Muʾnis al-Muẓaffar was robed with honor and appointed over the summer expedition [in this year]. And a letter was read from the pulpit announcing the victory granted to the Muslims from Tarsus. Nāzūk had ordered the beating of two servant boys, one of whom was a servant of some of the Muṣāfiya infantry. The infantry took up arms and made for the house of Nāzūk, and a battle took place between them, and a group was killed. Al-Muqtadir rode out and reached the Gate of the Common People, then Naṣr the chamberlain advised him to return, so he returned, and he dispatched the commanders to calm the situation and occupied them with releasing their stipends, so they quieted. And in Rajab, the judge Abū ʿUmar appointed his son as his deputy over the judiciary in the City of Peace, and he rode to the mosque of al-Ruṣāfa and judged.
