الْحَرْبِ بَيْنَ أَذْكُوتَكِينَ وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ الْعَلَوِيِّ فِي هَذِهِ سَنَةُ اثْنَتَيْنِ وَسَبْعِينَ وَمِائَتَيْنِ، مُنْتَصَفَ جُمَادَى الْأُولَى، كَانَتْ حَرْبٌ شَدِيدَةٌ بَيْنَ أَذْكُوتَكِينَ وَبَيْنَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ الْعَلَوِيِّ، صَاحِبِ طَبَرِسْتَانَ، ثُمَّ سَارَ أَذْكُوتَكِينَ مِنْ قَزْوِينَ إِلَى الرَّيِّ، وَمَعَهُ أَرْبَعَةُ آلَافِ فَارِسٍ، وَكَانَ مَعَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ مِنَ الدَّيْلَمِ، وَالطَّبَرِيَّةِ وَالْخُرَاسَانِيَّةِ عَالَمٌ كَبِيرٌ، فَاقْتَتَلُوا، فَانْهَزَمَ عَسْكَرُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، وَتَفَرَّقُوا، وَقُتِلَ مِنْهُمْ سِتَّةُ آلَافٍ وَأُسِرَ أَلْفَانِ، وَغَنِمَ أَذْكُوتَكِينَ، وَعَسْكَرُهُ مِنْ أَثْقَالِهِمْ، وَأَمْوَالِهِمْ، وَدَوَابِّهِمْ شَيْئًا لَمْ يَرَوْا مِثْلَهُ، وَدَخَلَ أَذْكُوتَكِينُ الرَّيَّ فَأَقَامَ بِهَا، وَأَخَذَ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا مِائَةَ أَلْفِ أَلْفِ دِينَارٍ، وَفَرَّقَ عُمَّالَهُ فِي أَعْمَالِ الرَّيِّ.
Translation
✧ THE WAR BETWEEN ADHKŪTAKĪN AND MUḤAMMAD B. ZAYD AL-ʿALAWĪ In this year two hundred and seventy-two, in the middle of Jumādā al-Ūlā, there was a fierce war between Adhkūtakīn and Muḥammad b. Zayd al-ʿAlawī, lord of Ṭabaristān. Then Adhkūtakīn marched from Qazwīn to al-Rayy, with him four thousand horsemen, and with Muḥammad b. Zayd were a great multitude from the Daylam, the Ṭabarīs, and the Khurāsānīs. They fought, and the army of Muḥammad b. Zayd was defeated and scattered. Six thousand of them were killed and two thousand taken prisoner. Adhkūtakīn and his army captured from their baggage, wealth, and beasts something the like of which they had never seen. Adhkūtakīn entered al-Rayy and stayed there, taking from its people one hundred thousand thousand dinars, and he distributed his agents throughout the districts of al-Rayy.
