The Year 208 AH
وَفِيهَا سَيَّرَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ صَاحِبُ الْأَنْدَلُسِ جَيْشًا إِلَى بِلَادِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ ، وَاسْتَعْمَلَ عَلَيْهِ عَبْدَ الْكَرِيمِ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ بْنِ مُغِيثٍ، فَسَارُوا [ إِلَى ] أَلْبَةَ وَالْقِلَاعِ، فَنَهَبُوا بِلَادَ أَلْبَةَ وَأَحْرَقُوهَا، وَحَصَرُوا عِدَّةً مِنَ الْحُصُونِ، فَفَتَحُوا بَعْضَهَا، وَصَالَحَهُ بَعْضُهَا عَلَى مَالٍ وَإِطْلَاقِ الْأَسْرَى مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ، فَغَنِمَ أَمْوَالًا جَلِيلَةَ الْقَدْرِ، وَاسْتَنْقَذُوا مِنْ أَسَارَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَسَبْيِهِمْ كَثِيرًا، فَكَانَ ذَلِكَ فِي جُمَادَى الْآخِرَةِ، وَعَادُوا سَالِمِينَ.
Translation
✧ In this year, ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. al-Ḥakam, the ruler of al-Andalus, dispatched an army to the lands of the polytheists, appointing over it ʿAbd al-Karīm b. ʿAbd al-Wāḥid b. Mughīth. They marched to Álaba and al-Qilāʿ, plundered the lands of Álaba and burned them, and besieged a number of fortresses. They conquered some of them, and some made peace with him for money and the release of Muslim captives. He gained great amounts of wealth as booty, and they rescued many Muslim captives and prisoners. That took place in Jumādā al-Ākhirah, and they returned safely.
