Translation

✧ Mention of the beginning of the affair of Bābak al-Khurramī In this year, Bābak al-Khurramī arose among the Jāwīdāniyyah, the followers of Jāwīdān b. Sahl, the lord of al-Badhdh, and claimed that the spirit of Jāwīdān had entered into him, and he began to commit acts of devastation and corruption. The meaning of Jāwīdān is "the everlasting, the enduring," and the meaning of Khurram is "vulva," and these are the doctrines of the Magians. A man among them may marry his mother, his sister, and his daughter; for this reason they call it the religion of the vulva. They believe in the doctrine of metempsychosis, and that souls transmigrate from one animal to another.
