ذِكْرُ عِدَّةِ حَوَادِثَ فِي سنة ست وسبعين ومائة غَزَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ بِجَيْشِ صَاحِبِ الْأَنْدَلُسِ بِلَادَ الْفِرِنْجِ  ، فَبَلَغَ أَلَبَةَ، وَالْقِلَاعَ، فَغَنِمَ، وَسَلِمَ. وَفِيهَا اسْتَعْمَلَ هِشَامٌ ابْنَهُ الْحَكَمَ عَلَى طُلَيْطِلَةَ  ، وَسَيَّرَهُ إِلَيْهَا، فَضَبَطَهَا، وَأَقَامَ بِهَا، وَوُلِدَ لَهُ بِهَا ابْنُهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ، وَهُوَ الَّذِي وَلِيَ الْأَنْدَلُسَ بَعْدَ أَبِيهِ. وَفِيهَا اسْتَعْمَلَ الرَّشِيدُ عَلَى الْمَوْصِلِ الْحَاكِمَ بْنَ سُلَيْمَانَ. وَفِيهَا خَرَجَ الْفَضْلُ الْخَارِجِيُّ بِنَوَاحِي نَصِيبِينَ، فَأَخَذَ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا مَالًا، وَسَارَ إِلَى دَارَا وَآمِدَ وَأَرْزَنَ، فَأَخَذَ مِنْهُمْ مَالًا، وَكَذَلِكَ فَعَلَ بِخِلَاطَ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَى نَصِيبِينَ، وَأَتَى الْمَوْصِلَ، فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِ عَسْكَرُهَا، فَهَزَمَهُمْ عَلَى الزَّابِ، ثُمَّ عَادُوا لِقِتَالِهِ، فَقُتِلَ الْفَضْلُ وَأَصْحَابُهُ. وَفِيهَا عَزَلَ الرَّشِيدُ الْغِطْرِيفَ بْنَ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ خُرَاسَانَ، وَوَلَّاهَا حَمْزَةَ بْنَ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْهَيْثَمِ الْخُزَاعِيَّ الْمُلَقَّبَ بِالْعَرُوسِ. وَغَزَا الصَّائِفَةَ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، فَفَتَحَ حِصْنًا. وَحَجَّتْ زُبَيْدَةُ زَوْجَةُ الْخَلِيفَةِ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ، وَمَعَهَا أَخُوهَا. وَكَانَ أَمِيرَ الْحَجِّ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ سُلَيْمَانُ ابْنَ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ الْمَنْصُورِ عَمُّ الرَّشِيدِ. ومِنَ الْحَوَادِثِ فِيهَا: تَوْلِيَةُ الرَّشِيدِ الْفَضْلَ بْنَ يَحْيَى كُورَ الْجِبَالِ، وَطَبَرَسْتَانَ، وَدُنْبَاوَنْدَ، وَقُومِسَ، وَأَرْمِينِيَّةَ، وَأَذْرَبَيْجَانَ. وَفِي سَنَةِ سِتٍّ وَسَبْعِينَ: فُتِحَتْ مَدِينَةُ دِبْسَةَ عَلَى يَدِ الْأَمِيرِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ الْعَبَّاسِيِّ  .

Translation

✧ Mention of several events In the year one hundred seventy-six, ʿAbd al-Malik b. ʿAbd al-Wāḥid raided with the army of the ruler of al-Andalus the lands of the Franks, and reached Álava and al-Qilāʿ, and took booty and was safe. In it, Hishām appointed his son al-Ḥakam over Ṭulayṭilah, and sent him there, and he governed it firmly and resided in it, and his son ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. al-Ḥakam was born to him there, and he is the one who ruled al-Andalus after his father. In it, al-Rashīd appointed al-Ḥākim b. Sulaymān over al-Mawṣil. In it, al-Faḍl al-Khārijī rose in the districts of Naṣībīn, and took wealth from its people, and went to Dārā and Āmid and Arzan, and took wealth from them, and likewise he did with Khilāṭ, then returned to Naṣībīn, and came to al-Mawṣil, and its army went out against him, and he defeated them on the Zāb, then they returned to fight him, and al-Faḍl and his companions were killed. In it, al-Rashīd dismissed al-Ghiṭrīf b. ʿAṭāʾ from Khurāsān, and appointed Ḥamzah b. Mālik b. al-Haytham al-Khuzāʿī, nicknamed al-ʿArūs. The summer expedition in this year was led by ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. ʿAbd al-Malik, and he conquered a fortress. Zubaydah, the wife of the caliph, performed the pilgrimage in this year, and with her was her brother. The leader of the pilgrimage in this year was Sulaymān b. Abī Jaʿfar al-Manṣūr, the paternal uncle of al-Rashīd. Among the events in it: Al-Rashīd appointed al-Faḍl b. Yaḥyā over the provinces of al-Jibāl, Ṭabaristān, Dunbāwand, Qūmis, Armenia, and Adharbayjān. In the year one hundred seventy-six: the city of Dibsah was conquered at the hand of the amir ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. ʿAbd al-Malik b. Ṣāliḥ al-ʿAbbāsī.
