Then the year 156 AH began
وَحَجَّ بِالنَّاسِ الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ. وَكَانَ عَلَى مَكَّةَ: مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْإِمَامِ، وَعَلَى الْكُوفَةِ: عَمْرُو بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ، وَعَلَى الْأَحْدَاثِ وَالْجَوَالِي وَالشُّرَطِ بِالْبَصْرَةِ: سَعِيدُ بْنُ دَعْلَجٍ وَعَلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَالْقَضَاءِ: سَوَّارُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، وَعَلَى كُوَرِ دِجْلَةَ وَالْأَهْوَازِ وَفَارِسَ: عُمَارَةُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، وَعَلَى كَرْمَانَ وَالسِّنْدِ: هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، وَعَلَى إِفْرِيقِيَّةَ: يَزِيدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ، وَعَلَى مِصْرَ: مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ.
Translation
✧ Al-ʿAbbās b. Muḥammad b. ʿAlī led the people in the pilgrimage. In charge of Makkah was Muḥammad b. Ibrāhīm al-Imām; in charge of al-Kūfah was ʿAmrū b. Zuhayr; in charge of the events (al-aḥdāth), the poll-tax collectors (al-jawālī), and the police (al-shuraṭ) in al-Baṣrah was Saʿīd b. Daʿlaj; in charge of the prayer and the judiciary was Sawwār b. ʿAbd Allāh; in charge of the districts of the Tigris, al-Ahwāz, and Fāris was ʿUmārah b. Ḥamzah; in charge of Kirmān and al-Sind was Hishām b. ʿAmrū; in charge of Ifrīqiyyah was Yazīd b. Ḥātim; and in charge of Miṣr was Muḥammad b. Saʿīd.
