Then the year 156 AH began
وَفِيهَا سَخِطَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأُمَوِيُّ عَلَى مَوْلَاهُ بَدْرٍ لِفَرْطِ إِدْلَالِهِ عَلَيْهِ، وَلَمْ يَرْعَ حَقَّ خِدْمَتِهِ وَطُولَ صُحْبَتِهِ، وَصِدْقَ مُنَاصَحَتِهِ، فَأَخَذَ مَالَهُ، وَسَلَبَهُ نِعْمَتَهُ، وَنَفَاهُ إِلَى الثَّغْرِ، فَبَقِيَ بِهِ إِلَى أَنْ هَلَكَ.
Translation
✧ In this year, ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Umawī became angry with his mawlā Badr because of the latter's excessive presumptuousness toward him, and [Badr] did not observe the right of his service, his long companionship, and his sincere counsel. So [ʿAbd al-Raḥmān] took his wealth, stripped him of his blessing, and banished him to the frontier, where he remained until he perished.
