Then the year 148 AH began
ثُمَّ دَخَلَتْ سَنَةُ ثَمَانٍ وَأَرْبَعِينَ وَمِائَةٍ فَمِنَ الْحَوَادِثِ فِيهَا: تَوْجِيهُ الْمَنْصُورِ حُمَيْدَ بْنَ قُحْطَبَةَ إِلَى أَرْمِينِيَّةَ لِحَرْبِ التُّرْكِ الَّذِينَ قَتَلُوا حَرْبَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، وَعَاثُوا بِتَفْلِيسَ، فَسَارَ فَوَجَدَهُمْ قَدِ ارْتَحَلُوا، فَانْصَرَفَ وَلَمْ يَلْقَ مِنْهُمْ أَحَدًا.
Translation
✧ Then the year 148 AH began Among the events of it: The dispatch by al-Manṣūr of Ḥumayd b. Quḥṭabah to Armenia to fight the Turks who had killed Ḥarb b. ʿAbd Allāh and wrought havoc in Tiflīs. He marched and found that they had departed, so he turned back without encountering any of them.
