Then the year 148 AH began
وَفِي سَنَةِ ثَمَانٍ وَأَرْبَعِينَ: تَوَطَّدَتِ الْمَمَالِكُ كُلُّهَا لِلْمَنْصُورِ، وَعَظُمَتْ هَيْبَتُهُ فِي النُّفُوسِ، وَدَانَتْ لَهُ الْأَمْصَارُ، وَلَمْ يُبْقِ خَارِجًا عَنْهُ سِوَى جَزِيرَةِ الْأَنْدَلُسِ فَقَطْ؛ فَإِنَّهَا غَلَبَ عَلَيْهَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْأُمَوِيُّ الْمَرْوَانِيُّ، لَكِنَّهُ لَمْ يَتَلَقَّبْ بِأَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ بَلِ بِالْأَمِيرِ فَقَطْ، وَكَذَلِكَ بَنُوهُ.
Translation
✧ In the year one hundred and forty-eight: the lands all became firmly established for al-Mansur, and his awe became great in the souls, and the cities yielded obedience to him, and no one remained outside his authority except the island of al-Andalus only; for it was overcome by ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Muʿāwiyah al-Umawī al-Marwānī, but he did not assume the title of Commander of the Faithful, but only that of emir, and likewise his sons.
