ذِكْرُ بَعْضِ الْمَشْهُورِينَ مِمَّنْ كَانَ مَعَهُ وَكَانَ فِيمَنْ مَعَهُ مِنْ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ أَخُوهُ مُوسَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، وَحُسَيْنٌ وَعَلِيٌّ ابْنَا زَيْدِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ. وَلَمَّا بَلَغَ الْمَنْصُورُ أَنَّ ابْنَيْ زَيْدٍ أَعَانَا مُحَمَّدًا عَلَيْهِ قَالَ: عَجَبًا لَهُمَا قَدْ خَرَجَا عَلَيَّ وَقَدْ قَتَلْنَا قَاتِلَ أَبِيهِمَا كَمَا قَتَلَهُ، وَصَلَبْنَاهُ كَمَا صَلَبَهُ، وَأَحْرَقْنَاهُ كَمَا أَحْرَقَهُ !. وَكَانَ مَعَهُ حَمْزَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ، وَعَلِيٌّ وَزَيْدٌ ابْنَا الْحَسَنِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، وَكَانَ أَبُوهُمَا مَعَ الْمَنْصُورِ، وَالْحَسَنُ وَيَزِيدُ وَصَالِحٌ بَنُو مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، وَالْقَاسِمُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، وَالْمُرَجَّى عَلِيُّ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، وَكَانَ أَبُوهُ مَعَ الْمَنْصُورِ. وَمِنْ غَيْرِهِمْ: مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ حَفْصِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ، أُخِذَ أَسِيرًا فَأُتِيَ بِهِ الْمَنْصُورُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ: أَنْتَ الْخَارِجُ عَلَيَّ ؟ قَالَ: لَمْ أَجِدْ إِلَّا ذَلِكَ أَوِ الْكُفْرَ بِمَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ. وَكَانَ مَعَهُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ [ أَبِي ] سَبْرَةَ، وَعَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَوْنٍ مَوْلَى الْأَزْدِ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْمِسْوَرِ بْنِ مَخْرَمَةَ، وَعَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ، وَعَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ مَوْلَى بَنِي سِبَاعٍ، وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ، وَإِسْحَاقُ، وَرَبِيعَةُ. وَجَعْفَرٌ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ، وَعَطَاءٌ، وَيَعْقُوبُ، وَعُثْمَانُ، وَعَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بَنُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، وَعِيسَى بْنُ خُضَيْرٍ، ( وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ خُضَيْرٍ )، وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، هَرَبَ بَعْدَ قَتْلِ مُحَمَّدٍ فَأَتَى الْبَصْرَةَ، فَأُخِذَ مِنْهَا وَأُتِيَ بِهِ الْمَنْصُورُ. فَقَالَ لَهُ: هِيهِ يَا عُثْمَانُ ! أَنْتَ الْخَارِجُ عَلَيَّ مَعَ مُحَمَّدٍ ؟ قَالَ: بَايَعْتُهُ أَنَا وَأَنْتَ بِمَكَّةَ فَوَفَّيْتُ بِبَيْعَتِي، وَغَدَرْتَ بَيْعَتَكَ ! قَالَ: يَا ابْنَ اللَّخْنَاءِ ! قَالَ: ذَاكَ مَنْ قَامَتْ عَنْهُ الْإِمَاءُ ! يَعْنِي الْمَنْصُورَ، فَأَمَرَ بِهِ فَقُتِلَ. وَكَانَ مَعَ مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، وَأُخِذَ أَسِيرًا، فَأَطْلَقَهُ الْمَنْصُورُ، وَعَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُطِيعٍ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جُنْطُبَ، وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، وَهِشَامُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ الْخِيَارِ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ هُرْمُزَ، وَغَيْرُهُمْ مِمَّنْ تَقَدَّمَ ذِكْرُهُمْ.
Translation
✧ Mention of some of the well-known who were with him Among the Banū Hāshim who were with him were his brother Mūsā b. ʿAbd Allāh, and Ḥusayn and ʿAlī, the two sons of Zayd b. ʿAlī b. al-Ḥusayn b. ʿAlī. When al-Manṣūr learned that the two sons of Zayd had assisted Muḥammad against him, he said: "How strange for them! They have rebelled against me, yet we killed the killer of their father just as he killed him, crucified him just as he crucified him, and burned him just as he burned him!" Also with him were Ḥamza b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Muḥammad b. al-Ḥusayn, and ʿAlī and Zayd, the two sons of al-Ḥasan b. Zayd b. ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib—their father was with al-Manṣūr—and al-Ḥasan, Yazīd, and Ṣāliḥ, the sons of Muʿāwiya b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Jaʿfar b. Abī Ṭālib, and al-Qāsim b. Isḥāq b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Jaʿfar, and al-Murajjā ʿAlī b. Jaʿfar b. Isḥāq b. ʿAlī b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Jaʿfar—his father was with al-Manṣūr. And from others: Muḥammad b. ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿAmr b. Saʿīd b. al-ʿAbbās, Muḥammad b. ʿAjlān, and ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿUmar b. Ḥafṣ b. ʿĀṣim. He was taken prisoner and brought to al-Manṣūr, who said to him: "Are you the one who rebelled against me?" He said: "I found no alternative to that or to disbelieving in what God revealed to Muḥammad." Also with him were Abū Bakr b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Muḥammad b. [Abī] Sabra, ʿAbd al-Wāḥid b. Abī ʿAwn, mawlā of al-Azd, ʿAbd Allāh b. Jaʿfar b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. al-Miswar b. Makhrama, ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. Muḥammad al-Darāwardī, ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd b. Jaʿfar, ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿAṭāʾ b. Yaʿqūb, mawlā of Banū Sibāʿ, and Ibrāhīm, Isḥāq, and Rabīʿa. And Jaʿfar, ʿAbd Allāh, ʿAṭāʾ, Yaʿqūb, ʿUthmān, and ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz, the sons of ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿAṭāʾ, and ʿĪsā b. Khuḍayr, (and ʿUthmān b. Khuḍayr), and ʿUthmān b. Muḥammad b. Khālid b. al-Zubayr. He fled after the killing of Muḥammad and went to al-Baṣra, where he was seized and brought to al-Manṣūr. He said to him: "Well, ʿUthmān! Are you the one who rebelled against me with Muḥammad?" He said: "I pledged allegiance to him, and you did too, in Makkah. I fulfilled my pledge, and you betrayed yours!" He said: "Son of a foul woman!" He said: "That is one from whom slave women turned away!"—meaning al-Manṣūr—and he ordered him to be killed. Also with Muḥammad was ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. ʿUbayd Allāh b. ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb, who was taken prisoner but al-Manṣūr released him, and ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. Ibrāhīm b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Muṭīʿ, ʿAlī b. ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Junṭub, Ibrāhīm b. Jaʿfar b. Muṣʿab b. al-Zubayr, Hishām b. ʿUmāra b. al-Walīd b. ʿAdī b. al-Khiyār, and ʿAbd Allāh b. Yazīd b. Hurmuz, and others whose mention has preceded.
