وَفِيهَا مَاتَ يَحْيَى بْنُ يَعْمُرَ الْعَدَوِيُّ بِخُرَاسَانَ ، وَكَانَ قَدْ تَعَلَّمَ النَّحْوَ مِنْ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ الدُّؤَلِيِّ، وَكَانَ مِنْ فُصَحَاءِ التَّابِعِينَ وفيها مات مَنْصُورُ بْنُ زَاذَانَ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَقِيلٍ الثَّقَفِيِّ، وَشَهِدَ جِنَازَتَهُ الْمُسْلِمُونَ وَالْيَهُودُ وَالنَّصَارَى وَالْمَجُوسُ لِاتِّفَاقِهِمْ عَلَى صَلَاحِهِ، وَقِيلَ: مَاتَ سَنَةَ إِحْدَى وَثَلَاثِينَ. وَفِيهَا مَاتَ سَالِمٌ أَبُو النَّضْرِ وَفِيهَا مَاتَ أَبُو الزِّنَادِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ ذَكْوَانَ وَفِيهَا مَاتَ وَهْبُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، مَوْلَى طَيِّئٍ، يُكَنَّى أَبَا نَصْرٍ: أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي الْقَاسِمِ بِإِسْنَادٍ لَهُ عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، قَالَ: مَا صَلَحَ مَنْطِقُ رَجُلٍ إِلَّا عَرَفْتُ ذَلِكَ فِي سَائِرِ عَمَلِهِ، وَلَا فَسَدَ مَنْطِقُهُ إِلَّا عَرَفْتُ ذَلِكَ فِي سَائِرِ عَمَلِهِ. أَسْنَدَ يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ، وَابْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى، وَغَيْرِهِمَا مِنَ الصَّحَابَةِ. وَتُوُفِّيَ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ. وَقِيلَ: فِي سَنَةِ اثْنَتَيْنِ وَثَلَاثِينَ. وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي صَالِحٍ. وَأَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَرَقَبَةُ بْنُ مَصْقَلَةَ الْكُوفِيُّ خَالِدُ بْنُ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ التُّجِيبِيُّ، يُكَنَّى أَبَا عُمَرَ: سَمِعَ مِنِ ابْنِ جَزْءٍ، وَكَانَ فَقِيهَ أَهْلِ الْمَغْرِبِ وَمِصْرَ يُفْتِيهِمْ، وَكَانَ مُسْتَجَابَ الدَّعْوَةِ. تُوُفِّيَ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ بِإِفْرِيقِيَّةَ. وَقِيلَ: فِي سَنَةِ خَمْسٍ وَعِشْرِينَ. عَاصِمُ بْنُ أَبِي النَّجُودِ، أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْأَسَدِيُّ الْخَيَّاطُ، مَوْلًى لِبَنِي خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ نَضْرِ بْنِ قَعْصٍ، وَاسْمُ أَبِي النَّجُودِ: بَهْدَلَةَ. أَدْرَكَ عَاصِمٌ ثَلَاثَةَ عَشَرَ صَحَابِيًّا، وَكَانَ كَثِيرَ الرِّوَايَةِ، وَقَرَأَ عَلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيِّ.
Translation
✧ In this year died Yaḥyā b. Yaʿmur al-ʿAdawī in Khurasān. He had learned grammar from Abū al-Aswad al-Duʾalī, and he was one of the eloquent ones among the Successors. In it died Manṣūr b. Zādhān, the client of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abī ʿAqīl al-Thaqafī. His funeral was attended by the Muslims, the Jews, the Christians, and the Magians, because they agreed on his righteousness. It is said he died in the year one hundred thirty-one. In it died Sālim Abū al-Naḍr. In it died Abū al-Zinād ʿAbd Allāh b. Dhakwān. In it died Wahb b. Kaysān. Yaḥyā b. Abī Kathīr, the client of Ṭayyiʾ, whose kunyah is Abū Naṣr: Muḥammad b. Abī al-Qāsim informed us with a chain of transmission from Abū ʿAmr, from Yaḥyā b. Abī Kathīr, who said: When a man’s speech became sound, I recognized that in all of his actions; and when his speech became corrupt, I recognized that in all of his actions. Yaḥyā b. Abī Kathīr transmitted from Anas, Ibn Abī Awfā, and other Companions. He died in this year, and it is said in the year one hundred thirty-two. Also Saʿīd b. Abī Ṣāliḥ, Abū Isḥāq al-Shaybānī, al-Ḥārith b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, and Raqaba b. Maṣqala al-Kūfī. Khālid b. Abī ʿImrān al-Tujībī, whose kunyah is Abū ʿUmar: He heard from Ibn Jazʾ, and he was the jurist of the people of the Maghrib and Egypt, giving them legal opinions, and his supplication was answered. He died in this year in Ifrīqiya, and it is said in the year one hundred twenty-five. ʿĀṣim b. Abī al-Najūd, Abū Bakr al-Asadī al-Khayyāṭ, a client of Banū Khuzayma b. Mālik b. Naḍr b. Qaʿṣ, and the name of Abū al-Najūd is Bahdala. ʿĀṣim met thirteen Companions, and he narrated many reports, and he studied Qurʾanic recitation under Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Sulamī.
