Then the Year 129 AH Began
ذِكْرُ عِدَّةِ حَوَادِثَ وَحَجَّ بِالنَّاسِ عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ، وَهُوَ كَانَ الْعَامِلَ عَلَى مَكَّةَ وَالْمَدِينَةِ وَالطَّائِفِ . وَكَانَ عَلَى الْعِرَاقِ يَزِيدُ [ بْنُ عُمَرَ ] بْنِ هُبَيْرَةَ، وَعَلَى قَضَاءِ الْكُوفَةِ: الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ الْمُحَارِبِيُّ، وَعَلَى قَضَاءِ الْبَصْرَةِ: عَبَّادُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، وَكَانَ عَلَى خُرَاسَانَ: نَصْرُ بْنُ سَيَّارٍ وَالْفِتْنَةُ بِهَا.
Translation
✧ Mention of Several Events ʿAbd al-Wāḥid led the people in the pilgrimage. He was the governor of Makkah, Madinah, and al-Ṭāʾif. Yazīd [b. ʿUmar] b. Hubayrah was over Iraq. Al-Ḥajjāj b. ʿĀṣim al-Muḥāribī was over the judiciary of al-Kūfah. ʿAbbād b. Manṣūr was over the judiciary of al-Baṣrah. Naṣr b. Sayyār was over Khurāsān, and the turmoil was there.
