ذِكْرُ امْتِنَاعِ نَصْرِ بْنِ سَيَّارٍ عَلَى مَنْصُورٍ وَفِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ امْتَنَعَ نَصْرُ بْنُ سَيَّارٍ بِخُرَاسَانَ مِنْ تَسْلِيمِ عَمَلِهِ لِعَامِلِ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ جُمْهُورٍ، وَكَانَ يَزِيدُ وَلَّاهَا مَنْصُورًا مَعَ الْعِرَاقِ، وَقَدْ ذَكَرْنَا فِيمَا تَقَدَّمَ مَا كَانَ مِنْ كِتَابِ يُوسُفَ بْنِ عُمَرَ إِلَى نَصْرٍ بِالْمَسِيرِ إِلَيْهِ وَمَسِيرِ نَصْرٍ ( وَتَبَاطُئِهِ وَمَا مَعَهُ مِنَ الْهَدَايَا، فَأَتَاهُ قَتْلُ الْوَلِيدِ، فَرَجَعَ نَصْرٌ ) وَرَدَّ تِلْكَ الْهَدَايَا، وَأَعْتَقَ الرَّقِيقَ، وَقَسَّمَ حِسَانَ الْجَوَارِي فِي وَلَدِهِ وَخَاصَّتِهِ، وَقَسَّمَ تِلْكَ الْآنِيَةَ فِي عَوَامِّ النَّاسِ، وَوَجَّهَ الْعُمَّالَ وَأَمَرَهُمْ بِحُسْنِ السِّيرَةِ، وَاسْتَعْمَلَ مَنْصُورٌ أَخَاهُ مَنْظُورًا عَلَى الرَّيِّ وَخُرَاسَانَ، فَلَمْ يُمَكِّنْهُ نَصْرٌ مِنْ ذَلِكَ، وَحَفِظَ نَفْسَهُ وَالْبِلَادَ مِنْهُ وَمِنْ أَخِيهِ.
Translation
✧ Mention of the refusal of Naṣr b. Sayyār against Manṣūr In this year, Naṣr b. Sayyār in Khurasan refused to hand over his governorship to the governor of Manṣūr b. Jumhūr. Yazīd had appointed Manṣūr over it along with Iraq. We have previously mentioned what came of the letter of Yūsuf b. ʿUmar to Naṣr ordering him to set out to him, and the departure of Naṣr, his delay, and the gifts that were with him. Then the news of the killing of al-Walīd came to him, so Naṣr returned, gave back those gifts, freed the slaves, distributed the beautiful slave girls among his sons and his close associates, and distributed those vessels among the common people. He sent out the governors and ordered them to behave well. Manṣūr appointed his brother Manẓūr over al-Rayy and Khurasan, but Naṣr did not enable him to do that, and he protected himself and the lands from him and his brother.
