The story of Moses the one who spoke with Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)

Translation

✧ The mention of Moses's pilgrimage, ﷺ, to the Ancient House and its description Imam Ahmad said, with his chain of transmission from Ibn ʿAbbās, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by Wādī al-Azraq and said: "Which valley is this?" They said: "Wādī al-Azraq." He said: "It is as if I am looking at Moses, while he is descending from the mountain pass, raising his voice in supplication to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, with the talbiyah," until he came to the mountain pass of Harshāʾ, and he said: "Which mountain pass is this?" They said: "This is the mountain pass of Harshāʾ." He said: "It is as if I am looking at Jonah son of Mattā, on a red camel, wearing a woolen jubbah, the halter of his camel being a khulbah"—Hushaym said: "meaning a fiber rope"—"while he is reciting the talbiyah." And al-Ṭabarānī narrated from Ibn ʿAbbās, in a marfūʿ report: "Moses performed the pilgrimage on a red bull," and this is very strange. And Imam Ahmad said, with his chain of transmission from Mujāhid, who said: We were with Ibn ʿAbbās, and they mentioned the Dajjāl, and he said: "It is written between his eyes: (k f r)." He said: "What do you say?" He said: "They say it is written between his eyes (k f r)." Then Ibn ʿAbbās said: "I did not hear him say that, but he said: 'As for Abraham, look at your companion; and as for Moses, he is a dark-skinned man with curly hair, on a red camel, haltered with a khulbah, as if I am looking at him as he descends from the valley reciting the talbiyah.'" Hushaym said: "al-khulbah is the fiber rope."
