✧ His ﷺ sending Abū Umāmah Ṣudayy b. ʿAjlān ؓ to his people Bāhilah [He is Ṣudayy—in diminutive form—son of ʿAjlān b. al-Ḥārith, and it is said: son of Wahb, and it is said: son of ʿAmr b. Wahb b. ʿArīb b. Wahb b. Riyāḥ al-Bāhilī, Abū Umāmah. He is well-known by his kunyah. He was with ʿAlī at Ṣiffīn. He died in the year eighty-six. Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr said: without disagreement. Abū Yaʿlā narrated from the route of Abū Ghālib from Abū Umāmah, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me to my people. I reached them while fasting, and they were eating blood. They said: Come. I said: I have only come to forbid you from this. Then I slept while overcome, and a bringer came to me with a vessel containing a drink. I took it and drank it, and it filled my belly, so I became full and quenched. Then a man among them said: A man from the nobles of your people has come to you, and you have not honored him. So they brought me milk. I said: I have no need for it. And I showed them my belly, so they all embraced Islam to the last of them. Al-Bayhaqī narrated it in al-Dalāʾil, and added in it that he sent him to his people Bāhilah].
