The messengers of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his correspondence to the kings and the like
إِرْسَالِهِ ﷺ مَالِكَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ إِلَى الْيَمَنِ [قَالَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ الْبَرِّ: وَيُقَالُ: مَالِكُ بْنُ فُزَارَةَ، وَالصَّحِيحُ: ابْنُ مُرَارَةَ، وَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ: الرَّهَاوِيُّ. وَرَوَى عَطَاءُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ عَنِ الثِّقَةِ عِنْدَهُ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ مُرَارَةَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ مَنْ كَانَ فِي قَلْبِهِ مِثْقَالُ حَبَّةٍ مِنْ خَرْدَلٍ مِنْ كِبْرٍ. قَالَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ الْبَرِّ: وَلَيْسَ مَالِكُ بْنُ مُرَارَةَ مَشْهُورًا فِي الصَّحَابَةِ. قَالَ ابْنُ سَعْدٍ: وَكَانَ مَالِكُ بْنُ مُرَارَةَ رَسُولَ أَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِإِسْلَامِهِمْ وَطَاعَتِهِمْ، وَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّ مَالِكَ بْنَ مُرَارَةَ قَدْ بَلَّغَ الْخَبَرَ وَحَفِظَ الْغَيْبَ ].
Translation
✧ HIS ﷺ SENDING MĀLIK B. ʿABD ALLĀH TO AL-YAMAN [Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr said: It is also said: Mālik b. Fuzārah, but the correct one is: b. Murārah, and some of them said: al-Rahāwī. ʿAṭāʾ b. Maysarah narrated from the trustworthy one in his estimation, from Mālik b. Murārah, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: He will not enter Paradise who has in his heart the weight of a mustard seed of pride. Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr said: And Mālik b. Murārah is not well-known among the Companions. Ibn Saʿd said: And Mālik b. Murārah was the messenger of the people of al-Yaman to the Prophet ﷺ with their Islam and their obedience, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wrote to them that Mālik b. Murārah had conveyed the news and preserved the unseen.]
