Translation
✧ Summary of the story of Isaac son of Abraham (peace be upon them): The Prophet of God Isaac son of Abraham (peace and blessings be upon them) was born when his father was one hundred years old, fourteen years after his brother Ishmael. Some people of knowledge have claimed that he was sent as a prophet during the lifetime of his father (peace be upon them). He ﷺ married and had offspring: Esau, whom the Arabs call al-ʿĪṣ, and Jacob, who is Israel, to whom the Children of Israel are attributed. It is said that Jacob ﷺ went out to his maternal uncle in Harran because of a matter between him and his brother Esau, in which Esau became angry with him and threatened him. So he went out until his brother's anger subsided. There he married his maternal uncle's two daughters, and that was permissible in their law, but it was later abrogated. Then after that he returned to his brother, gave him a gift, and humbled himself before him. His brother Esau welcomed him, and they went together to Jerusalem. Jacob ﷺ settled there, pitched his tent, and built an altar there, naming it Ēl, the God of Israel. God commanded him to build it so that He might manifest Himself to him there, and it is the Holy House [Bayt al-Maqdis] today. Isaac ﷺ fell ill and died in Syria at the age of one hundred and eighty years. It is also said: one hundred and sixty years. He was buried beside Abraham ﷺ.
