Translation

✧ His statement ﷺ regarding Quraysh: that they will not be killed as captives in retaliation (ṣabran) Muslim narrated from ʿAbd Allāh b. Muṭīʿ b. al-Aswad, from his father ؓ, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say on the day of the conquest of Makkah: “No Qurashī will be killed ṣabran after this day until the Day of Resurrection.” Muḥammad b. ʿUmar narrated from Abū Ḥuṣayn al-Hudhalī, who said: When the group that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had ordered to be killed was slain, wailing over them was heard in Makkah. Abū Sufyān b. Ḥarb came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: May my father and mother be your ransom—spare the rest of your people. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “No Qurashī will be killed ṣabran after this day.” Muḥammad b. ʿUmar said: Meaning, for disbelief. He also narrated from al-Ḥārith b. al-Barṣāʾ ؓ, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: “Quraysh will not be fought against after this day until the Day of Resurrection for disbelief.”
