Translation
✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ exiting the House and his prayer facing the Kaʿbah It is narrated that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ exited the House, he prayed two rakʿahs facing the Kaʿbah, and said: “This is the qiblah.” Muḥammad b. ʿUmar said: Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ exited the House with the key in his hand, while Khālid b. al-Walīd was keeping the people away from the door until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out. Then it is narrated from Barrah bt. Abī Tajirāh – with fatḥah on the tāʾ, kasrah on the jīm, and rāʾ – ؓ that she said: I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with the key in his hand, then he placed it in his sleeve. Imām Aḥmad said: ʿAbd al-Razzāq narrated to us, Maʿmar informed us, ʿUthmān al-Jazarī informed me that he heard Miqsam narrating from Ibn ʿAbbās, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the House and supplicated in its corners, then exited and prayed two rakʿahs. And from al-Sāʾib b. Yazīd ؓ, who said: I was present with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of the conquest; he prayed facing the Kaʿbah, removed his sandals and placed them on his left, then began reciting Sūrat al-Muʾminīn. When the mention of Mūsā or ʿĪsā came, a cough seized him, so he bowed. Ibn Abī Shaybah narrated it in al-Muṣannaf.
