The Compensatory ʿUmrah
Translation
✧ Mention of his ﷺ going between al-Ṣafā and al-Marwah Muḥammad b. ʿUmar—may God Almighty have mercy on him—narrated from Ibn ʿAbbās ؓ that the Messenger of God ﷺ went around between al-Ṣafā and al-Marwah on his riding camel. When the seventh circuit was at al-Marwah at its completion—and the sacrificial animals had stopped at al-Marwah—the Messenger of God ﷺ said: “This is the place of sacrifice, and every road of Makkah is a place of sacrifice,” so he sacrificed at al-Marwah. Muḥammad b. ʿUmar—may God Almighty have mercy on him—said: People who had not witnessed al-Ḥudaybiyah had performed ʿumrah with the Messenger of God ﷺ, so they did not sacrifice. As for those who had witnessed it and had gone out in the case, they shared in the sacrificial animals. And the Messenger of God ﷺ commanded two hundred of his companions, when they had circumambulated the House and gone between the two hills, to go to their companions at the bottom of Yaʾjaj and remain under arms, and the others would come and fulfill their rites, and they did so.
