The Expedition of Banū Qaynuqāʿ
غَزْوَةُ بَنِي قَيْنُقَاعَ وَقَعَتْ غَزْوَةُ بَنِي قَيْنُقَاعَ فِي سَنَةِ اثْنَيْنِ مِنَ الْهِجْرَةِ وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ بَنِي قَيْنُقَاعَ قَدْ نَقَضُوا الْعَهْدَ الَّذِي أَخَذَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَى يَهُودَ لَمَّا قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ، حَسَدًا وَبَغْيًا بَعْدَ نَصْرِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَهُ فِي بَدْرٍ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ. فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَاسْتَعْمَلَ عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ أَبَا لُبَابَةَ بْنَ الْمُنْذِرِ ؓ، وَحَمَلَ لِوَاءَهُ حَمْزَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ ؓ، فَحَاصَرَهُمْ حَتَّى نَزَلُوا مِنْ حُصُونِهِمْ عَلَى حُكْمِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَلَى أَنْ يَكُونَ لَهُمُ النِّسَاءُ وَالذُّرِّيَّةُ، وَيَكُونُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَمْوَالَهُمْ، وَأَجْلَاهُمْ عَنِ الْمَدِينَةِ فَلَحِقُوا بِأَذْرِعَاتِ الشَّامِ، وَقَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَمْوَالَهُمْ.
Translation
✧ The Expedition of Banū Qaynuqāʿ The Expedition of Banū Qaynuqāʿ took place in the year two of the Hijrah. That was because Banū Qaynuqāʿ had violated the pact that the Prophet ﷺ had taken from the Jews when he came to Madinah, out of envy and aggression after Allah, Mighty and Majestic, granted him victory at Badr over the polytheists. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out against them and appointed Abū Lubābah b. al-Mundhir ؓ over Madinah. Ḥamzah b. ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib ؓ carried his banner. He besieged them until they came down from their fortresses, submitting to the judgment of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, on the condition that the women and children would be theirs, while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would take their wealth. He banished them from Madinah, and they joined Adhriʿāt in Syria. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ distributed their wealth.
