✧ As for the talk of Shu'bah

فَأَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْمَحْبُوبِيُّ بِمَرْوَ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَنْبَأَ شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ عَنْ بِشْرِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ قَالَ

«إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ النَّاسِ بِوَقْتِ صَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّيَهَا لِسُقُوطِ الْقَمَرِ لِثَالِثَةٍ أَوْ رَابِعَةٍ» شَكَّ شُعْبَةُ

Translation

  6. Ḥabīb b. Sālim
  7. al-Nuʿmān b. Bashīr

✧ 'I am the most knowledgeable of people about the time of the last Isha prayer. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray it at the setting of the moon for the third or fourth night.' Shu'bah was uncertain.
