حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ خَلِيٍّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْوَهْبِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ {فِيهِ رِجَالٌ يُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يَتَطَهَّرُوا} [التوبة 108] قَالَ
لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِلَى عُوَيْمِ بْنِ سَاعِدَةَ فَقَالَ «مَا هَذَا الطُّهُورُ الَّذِي أَثْنَى اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ بِهِ» فَقَالُوا يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ مَا خَرَجَ مِنَّا رَجُلٌ وَلَا امْرَأَةٌ مِنَ الْغَائِطِ إِلَّا غَسَلَ دُبُرَهُ أَوْ قَالَ مَقْعَدَهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «فَفِي هَذَا»

✧ When this verse was revealed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent to Uwaym b. Sa'idah and said: 'What is this purification for which Allah has praised you?' They said: 'O Prophet of Allah, no man or woman among us comes out from the privy except that he washes his rear—or he said his seat.' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'So it is in this.'
