✧ as for the narration of Aisha...

Translation

✧ Abu Bakr b. Ishaq narrated to us, Ahmad b. Ibrahim b. Milhan informed us, Yahya b. Bukayr narrated to us, al-Layth narrated to us from ‘Umayrah b. Abi Najiyah, from Bakr b. Sawadah, from ‘Ata’ b. Yasar, from the Prophet ﷺ, something similar. And Allah knows best. It is upon the conditions of the two of them, and Ibn Nafi‘ is trustworthy; he alone connected it.

What scholars said about it

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

  • Abū Daʾūd

machine translationOthers than Ibn Nāfiʿ narrate it from al-Layth, from ʿUmayrah b. Abī Nājiyah, from Bakr b. Sawādah, from ʿAṭāʾ, from the Prophet, as mursal. The mention of Abū Saʿīd in it is an error (wahm) and is not preserved (maḥfūẓ).

  • Ibn al-Qaṭṭān

machine translationThe one who gave it a connected chain dropped a man from the chain, namely ʿUmayrah, so it becomes broken (munqaṭiʿ). As for the one who transmitted it as mursal, ʿUmayrah is in it along with the omission, and he is of unknown condition (majhūl al-ḥāl). He said: But Abū ʿAlī b. al-Sakan narrated it: Abū Bakr Muḥammad b. Aḥmad al-Wāsiṭī narrated to us, ʿAbbās b. Muḥammad narrated to us, Abū al-Walīd al-Ṭayālisī narrated to us, al-Layth b. Saʿd narrated to us, from ʿAmr b. al-Ḥārith and ʿUmayrah b. Abī Nājiyah, from Bakr b. Sawādah, from ʿAṭāʾ, from Abū Saʿīd, that two men set out on a journey... the hadith. He said: So he connected what is between al-Layth and Bakr through ʿAmr b. al-Ḥārith, who is trustworthy (thiqah), paired him with ʿUmayrah, and gave it a connected chain by mentioning Abū Saʿīd.

  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationʿAbdullāh b. Nāfiʿ was alone in narrating it from al-Layth with this chain, connected. Ibn al-Mubārak and others contradicted him and did not mention Abū Saʿīd.

  • Ibn al-Qaṭṭān

machine translationIt is a mursal report, and in its chain is an unknown man (majhūl), namely ʿUmayrah b. Abī Nājiyah, whose condition is unknown (majhūl al-ḥāl). As for the break in transmission (inqiṭāʿ) that Ibn Lahīʿah added between Bakr and ʿAṭāʾ, it is not to be heeded because of the weakness of Ibn Lahīʿah.
