Notes

machine translation"This is a rare (ʿazīzah) sunnah. If this chain is safe from Abū Bilāl, then it is a sound mursal report, for al-Ḥasan did not hear from ʿUthmān b. Abī al-ʿĀṣ. It has a supporting report (shāhid) with a chain like it." Abū Bilāl al-Ashʿarī was alone in narrating it from Ibn Shihāb. If it is safe from him, then it is a sound mursal report, for al-Ḥasan did not hear from ʿUthmān b. Abī al-ʿĀṣ, and it has a supporting report.

  • Ibn Ḥajar al-ʿAsqalānī

machine translationAl-Dāraquṭnī declared it weak (ḍaʿīf). Al-Ḥasan's narration from ʿUthmān b. Abī al-ʿĀṣ is broken (munqaṭiʿ), and what is well known from ʿUthmān is that it is a statement stopped at him (mawqūf).

  • Abū ʿAbdullāh al-Ḥākim
