حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَمْشَاذٍ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سَهْلِ الْمُجَوِّزِ ثنا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ اللَّخْمِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ خَطَبَ النَّاسَ فَقَالَ «مِنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَسْأَلَ عَنِ الْقُرْآنِ فَلْيَأْتِ أُبَيَّ بْنَ كَعْبٍ وَمَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَسْأَلَ عَنِ الْحَلَالِ وَالْحَرَامِ فَلْيَأْتِ مُعَاذَ بْنَ جَبَلٍ وَمَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَسْأَلَ عَنِ الْفَرَائِضَ فَلْيَأْتِ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ وَمَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَسْأَلَ عَنِ الْمَالِ فَلْيَأْتِنِي فَإِنِّي لَهُ خَازِنٌ»

Translation

✧ Umar b. al-Khattab addressed the people and said: “Whoever wishes to ask about the Qur'an, let him go to Ubayy b. Ka'b. Whoever wishes to ask about the lawful and the unlawful, let him go to Mu'adh b. Jabal. Whoever wishes to ask about the shares of inheritance, let him go to Zayd b. Thabit. Whoever wishes to ask about wealth, let him come to me, for I am its treasurer.”
