حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ أَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ عَوْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَوْنِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ حَدَّثَتْنِي جَدَّتِي أُمُّ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بِنْتُ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ
سَمِعْتُ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ سَأَلْتُ أَبِي عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُتْبَةَ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ أَيُّ شَيْءٍ تَذْكُرُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ؟ فَقَالَ «أَذَكُرُ أَنَّهُ أَخَذَنِي وَأَنَا خُمَاسِيٌّ أَوْ سُدَاسِيٌّ فَأَجْلَسَنِي فِي حِجْرِهِ وَمَسَحَ رَأْسِي وَدَعَا لِي وَلِذُرِّيَّتِي بِالْبَرَكَةِ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

✧ I heard my father Ḥamzah b. ʿAbdullāh say: I asked my father ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUtbah b. Masʿūd: “What do you remember of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?” He said: “I remember that he took me when I was five or six years old, seated me in his lap, wiped my head, and supplicated for blessing for me and my offspring.” Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in the Talkhis.
